A stunning figure of a girl with a guitar on her back, must be one of the largest by Royal Dux, with the pink triangle losenge and factory mark of 343.

This large porcelain figurine from 1900 depicts a standing female figure in historical attire carrying a stringed instrument on her back. Modelled in an Art Nouveau style, the ceramic piece employs a bisque finish featuring prominent shades of pink, brown and soft blue across the draped garments, ruffled bonnet and intricate floral base. The female figure has her hands raised behind her head, wearing an elaborate hat, a long ribbon tied at the bodice and an ornate dress. Measuring 81 cm high, 30 cm wide and 25 cm deep, the ornamental sculpture fits well upon a sideboard top or similar surface within a traditional or eclectic interior setting. The decorative base includes sculpted foliage and textured rockwork to support the upright figure.

Royal Dux figures originated in Duchcov (Dux), Bohemia, produced by the Duxer Porzellanmanufaktur founded in 1860, becoming renowned worldwide during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries for decorative porcelain sculptures.

These figures were cast in porcelain or bisque clay, finished with matt glazes, hand-painted polychrome decoration, and finished with soft pastel or gilded accents before kiln firing.

Genuine pieces frequently feature an applied pink porcelain triangle mark on the base bearing the word Dux, alongside impressed mould and model numbers.
