Meissen Porcelain Figure Group, C. 1880.

Description

Meissen porcelain figure group, c. 1880. Finely modelled as three figures gathered around a tree, dressed in 18th Century costume. A seated girl plays a mandolin, whilst her male companion offers her flowers that he has gathered in his hat. A boy standing by the tree, offers the girl a garland of flowers.

All set upon a rocky base, above a gilt lined laurel wreath foot rim.

Underglaze blue crossed swords, and incised model number to the base.

Height – 26.5 cm, 10 1/2”.

Width – 18 cm, 7 1/8”.

Depth – 12 cm, 4 3/4”.

Condition – Repair to very minor age related chips. Overall, in excellent condition.
