Rosewood Regency Library Table In The Manner Of William Trotter

Circa 1815. An exhibition quality rosewood regency library table in the manner of ‘William Trotter, Edinburgh’. Top with blue gilded and embossed leather writing surface, with a broad cross banding and simple moulded edge. There are three drawers (ash lined) to the frieze front and back, each with inverted beaded panels. (Trotter feature), two of the drawers are faux, both gables have panels with similar beading, and there are small vertical panels on each of the corners on all facings. The elegant library table stands on four turned legs with carved acanthus leaves towards the top of the legs which taper, there is a further carved and beaded section beneath, all resting on brass cups and casters.
