This is a pair of antique Oriental dog bookends. A Chinese, soapstone decorative 'Dog of Fo' book rest, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

Delightfully tactile dogs with a lovely natural finish and appearance

Soapstone in good order with warm cream and grey mottled appearance

Represents a sitting Dog of Fo with the strong Oriental influence
