Beautiful Vienna Porcelain Plaque Ruth in the Cornfield

1900 - 1920
Description

A beautiful 19th century porcelain plaque of Ruth in the cornfield dating from around 1900. The plaque is in its original gilt frame and is hand painted in lovely colours. This is likely by the Vienna factory KPM although the back board covers any marks or stamps to the reverse. KPM or Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Factory) is Berlins oldest porcelain factory and Germany’s second oldest. It was founded in 1763 and continues to produce porcelain to this day.

This piece is signed by the artist Wagner to the bottom right.

The piece measures 24 cms by 17 cms overall including the frame.
