Regency Footed Pottery Bowl C1830

Description

This attractive POTTERY FOOTED BOWL, decorated in a MAGENTA coloured transfer print of an imaginary Classical Garden Scene within a ROSE BORDER, dates from circa 1830.

It bears a capital ‘P’ to the underside which is possibly the mark of Pountney and Allies of the Bristol Pottery, Gloucester.

The BOWL is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration.

Diameter: 9.5 inches (24 cm)

This Regency earthenware bowl dates from circa 1830 and follows the English Country House style. The piece consists of a footed, lobed ceramic body with a scalloped rim and a fluted pedestal foot. It has a cream-coloured glazed finish decorated inside and out with a pink transferware floral pattern.
