This Victorian engineering style steam boiler and engine model dates to 1930. The piece is constructed from brass, copper, cast iron, and wood, displaying a green and brass colour palette. The visible components include a vertical chimney stack, copper feed pipes, brass pressure fittings, and a polished rectangular wooden plinth. Further visible details comprise a white dial on the pressure indicator, a glass water level tube, a Stuart engine mounted on the side, various taps, and an original gas supply bar. The physical dimensions measure 43 cm high, 38 cm wide, and 18 cm deep. In a contemporary home, this industrial loft style working model sits on an office desk or library shelf. The tabletop positioning highlights the intricate metalwork and engineering design. The dark wood base and bright metal components create a striking display piece for a study or workspace. The construction shows the traditional materials and mechanical assembly typical of miniature steam engines from the period.

Stationary live steam engine models are scaled-down functional replicas of industrial steam plants, originally constructed as educational demonstration tools, engineering prototypes, or working models during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Model boilers were typically constructed using solid brass, copper tubing, and cast iron components, frequently mounted on polished hardwood bases to withstand operational heat and pressure.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-machined brass fittings, brazed or riveted copper seams, functional valves, and natural age-related oxidisation rather than modern powder coatings.

These technical items function as distinct decorative curiosities when displayed on bookshelves, mantelpieces, or office desks, introducing a mechanical focus to contemporary study or living spaces.

Keep the external surfaces dust-free using a soft, lint-free cloth and apply dedicated metal polish to brass elements if required, whilst keeping moving mechanical linkages lubricated with light machine oil.
