Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This writing table dates from the Sheraton Revival period around 1910 and is made from mahogany with contrasting boxwood string inlay. The warm brown timber features a rectangular apron enclosing a single drawer with a small brass pull handle, set above four slender tapered legs with spade feet. The split folding top opens to reveal a fitted interior with compartments. The piece stands 74 cm high, 48.5 cm wide, and 48.5 cm deep. It functions well as a practical writing desk or side table placed in an empty corner of a study, bedroom, or living room in a traditional home.

FAQs

Originating in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Sheraton Revival furniture replicates the neoclassical designs of Thomas Sheraton from the late 18th century, featuring slim proportions, straight lines, geometric forms, and wood marquetry or stringing.

These tables are predominantly constructed from dense mahogany, satinwood, or rosewood, featuring boxwood stringing, brass hinges, and mechanical risers crafted from hardwood framing.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints, slim tapered legs, satinwood or boxwood line inlay, brass key escutcheons, and mechanical pop-up mechanisms operating via internal counterweights or catches.

This compact piece functions as an occasional side table in a living space, a hallway accent table, or a space-saving writing desk positioned beside a window or within an alcove.

Dust the wood with a soft, dry lint-free cloth, apply beeswax twice yearly along the grain, avoid direct sunlight or heat sources, and ensure mechanical hinges remain free of dust.
