A Victorian wine table is a small occasional table introduced during the nineteenth century, designed primarily to support a single drink, candle, or small decorative item alongside lounge seating.

These tables were predominantly crafted from solid hardwoods such as mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, featuring turned timber central columns and hand-shaped tripod feet.

Authentic period examples feature hand-turned central columns, original joinery under the top, natural wear consistent with age, and dense, dark hardwoods typical of nineteenth-century cabinetmaking.

A wine table can be positioned beside an armchair or sofa to function as a compact drink stand, or placed in an alcove to display floral arrangements or table lamps.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a soft cloth and applying beeswax polish annually, avoiding direct heat sources and high moisture environments.
