Regency centre tables, popular in early 19th-century Britain, were designed to stand in the middle of a room, featuring a circular top, central pedestal support, and a tri-form platform base.

Cabinetmakers primarily utilised imported hardwoods such as rosewood and mahogany, constructed with book-matched veneers, solid turned pillars, and hand-carved floral or paw details.

Authentic pieces demonstrate hand-planed underside surfaces, natural timber grain variation, original tilt-top brass catches, and evidence of historical oxidisation along the base and pedestal.

A circular Regency table functions as a focal point in an entry hall or dining area, providing structural contrast alongside clean contemporary seating and modern lighting.

Regular dusting with a dry microfiber cloth and periodic application of natural beeswax polish will protect the original finish, while keeping the piece away from direct heat sources prevents timber movement.
