Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This novelty miniature cocktail stick set dates from the 1940s Art Deco period. The item comprises six removable glass and metal cocktail sticks shaped like miniature coloured bottles and a central shaker, sitting atop a rectangular wooden bar-form stand with a polished chrome-plated metal trim along the top edge. The wooden components exhibit a warm brown tone with visible grain texture, whilst the miniature bottles display bright yellow, green, orange, and amber hues, complemented by the metallic silver shade of the central cocktail shaker stick and the chrome edging. Measuring 12 cm high, 12.5 cm wide, and 3 cm deep, this compact accessory sits neatly on a sideboard top or home bar during gatherings.

FAQs

Popular during the 1930s and 1940s, novelty cocktail stick sets were decorative bar accessories designed to hold reusable picks for drink garnishes or party appetisers during social gatherings.

These accessories were commonly constructed using a combination of polished timber bases, chrome-plated metal trim, and early synthetic resins or moulded plastics for the decorative toppers.

Authentic pieces often feature period patent stampings, country-of-origin marks, period-appropriate moulding lines on synthetic handles, and light oxidisation on metal surfaces.

These compact items serve as engaging decorative objects when styled on a sideboard, bar cart, or tray alongside period glassware and cocktail shakers.

Clean timber bases using a dry microfibre cloth, and gently wipe metal trim and synthetic handles with a slightly damp cloth, avoiding immersion in water or abrasive chemicals.
