FAQs

French farmhouse tables were traditionally crafted for rural homes, serving as the central hub for daily family life, food preparation, and communal dining.

These tables are typically constructed from solid regional hardwoods such as walnut, oak, or chestnut, featuring sturdy mortise and tenon joints built to withstand heavy daily use.

Authentic pieces often display hand-planed top boards, traditional joinery without modern metal fasteners, natural patina accumulated over decades, and signs of hand-tool usage.

Pairing the warm timber tones with contemporary minimalist chairs or industrial lighting creates a balanced contrast that anchors a dining space with historic character.

Maintain the finish by dusting with a dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and extreme humidity changes, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the timber.
