Produced during the 19th century, these side tables were designed for versatility, featuring rosewood veneers, compact proportions, and often trestle or pedestal bases resting on brass castors.

They typically feature solid mahogany or pine cores covered with figured rosewood veneers, assembled using hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawers and turned or carved stretchers for structural support.

Authentic pieces display distinct dark grain patterns characteristic of Dalbergia timber, original brass castors, hand-cut joinery within the frieze drawer, and natural age-related wear to the original polished surface.

Position the table alongside modern upholstered seating, in a hallway as an entryway accent, or next to a bed to incorporate warm timber tones into contemporary decorative schemes.

Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year, ensuring the table is kept away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent veneer lifting.
