A Rare 16th-17thC Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Crescent-Shaped Pilgrim Flask

Brief Description:

This is an extremely rare, late 16th or early 17th-century Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Pilgrim Flask water vessel, modelled with a crescent shape, and made in China for the Islamic market.

It is a beautiful piece to behold, with wonderful hand-painted foliage and a dragon-style creature on either side.

As is typical of the superbly crafted porcelain of the 15th and 16th centuries, this porcelain is dense, heavy, and tactile to the touch.

Indeed, it is a stunning quality piece that displays well.
