Antique engineering manuscripts and prints document significant industrial achievements, often featuring original signatures and hand-coloured visual representations from the 18th and 19th centuries.

These pieces typically consist of hand-laid rag paper, iron gall ink, watercolour pigments, and period wood or gesso frames with glass protection.

Authenticity is assessed through paper fibre analysis, ink composition testing, watermark identification, and comparison of handwriting against known exemplars of the signatory.

Such pieces function effectively as focal points in studies or libraries, mounted on neutral walls with museum-grade UV-protective framing to highlight their historical significance.

Preservation requires avoiding direct sunlight to prevent ink fading, maintaining stable relative humidity, and utilising acid-free framing materials with UV-blocking glazing.
