Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Demi lune, or half-moon, tables gained prominence during the Georgian and Victorian periods, frequently utilised as elegant pier tables or side tables in grand hallways and drawing rooms.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid mahogany or satinwood, featuring intricate marquetry and veneer work, tapered legs, and traditional mortise and tenon joinery.

Authenticity is identified through hand-cut dovetail joints, natural timber ageing, subtle variations in colour, traditional hand-polished finishes, and period-correct marquetry motifs.

Place the straight edge flush against a hallway or living room wall, topped with a statement mirror, a ceramic vase, or period brass candlesticks to create a balanced focal point.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, and applying occasional natural beeswax to nourish the finish.
