Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. FAQs

Victorian dining tables span the reign of Queen Victoria (18371901), encompassing various revivals from Gothic to Rococo, typically characterised by heavy, robust construction and rich, dark timber.

These pieces were predominantly crafted from solid timber veneers such as figured mahogany or walnut, often featuring hand-cut dovetails, secondary softwood internal frames, and mechanical winding systems for extension leaves.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate joinery techniques, hand-turned legs with brass castors, genuine patination, and tool marks consistent with nineteenth-century hand tools.

Pairing a dark wood antique table with contemporary upholstered chairs creates a balanced, eclectic aesthetic that anchors a modern dining space with historical depth.

Maintain timber surfaces by avoiding direct sunlight, using coasters and placemats, and applying microcrystalline wax periodically to nourish the wood without building up heavy residues.
