We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Edwardian period, spanning from 1901 to 1910, marked a transition towards durable yet refined travel goods, frequently constructed from heavy hides designed to withstand railway and steamship journeys.

These pieces typically utilized thick cattle hide stretched over a rigid wooden or canvas frame, reinforced with brass hardware, leather straps, and hand-stitched seams.

Authenticity is indicated by genuine patination, traditional brass locks, makers marks, hand-stitched edging, and signs of historical wear rather than modern synthetic treatments.

Vintage suitcases function effectively as stacked coffee table bases, bedside storage alternatives, or decorative accents that introduce texture and historical character to a room.

Preservation requires regular application of specialist leather balms or conservator wax to maintain suppleness, keeping the item away from direct sunlight and damp conditions.
