We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often lighter in build and colour than Victorian pieces, frequently drew inspiration from earlier 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs.

Cabinetmakers during the Edwardian era predominantly used solid mahogany, satinwood, and walnut, frequently incorporating intricate veneer work, boxwood stringing, and brass hardware.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate joinery such as hand-cut dovetails in the drawer construction, natural patination on the timber, and machine-milled components combined with hand-finishing characteristic of early 20th-century production.

Pairing a traditional wooden console with minimalist modern accessories, such as a contemporary ceramic lamp or abstract mirror, creates a balanced juxtaposition between historical craftsmanship and modern design.

Maintain antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber splitting, and occasionally nourish the wood with traditional beeswax rather than modern silicone-based polishes.
