FAQs

Regency style furniture refers to pieces produced in Britain during the early 19th century, characterised by classical proportions, inspired by ancient Greek and Roman designs, and fine timber craftsmanship.

These tables were predominantly crafted from dense tropical hardwoods like Cuban or Honduras mahogany, often featuring secondary woods such as oak or pine for interior frames and structural supports.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetails, traditional timber shrinkage patterns, patination consistent with age, and a mechanical concertina framework that expands smoothly using original brass fittings.

Pairing a dark wood antique table with modern minimalist chairs creates a balanced contrast, grounding the space while maintaining functional elegance.

Keep the wood away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, dust regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally apply natural beeswax to nourish the polished finish.
