FAQs

Dutch Delftware originated in the 17th century in the town of Delft, Netherlands, emerging as a European response to imported Chinese porcelain.

Potters typically used a buff earthenware body, coated with a white tin-lead glaze known as tin-enamel, upon which cobalt blue designs were hand-painted before firing.

Authentic pieces often exhibit fine crazing in the glaze, hand-painted brushwork nuances, and occasionally historical factory maker marks on the underside.

These jars can be used as standalone statement pieces on sideboards or mantels, pairing traditional blue and white patterns with neutral modern textures.

To preserve the porous ceramic and delicate glaze, keep pieces out of direct sunlight, avoid harsh chemical cleaners, and clean only with a soft, dry cloth.
