A George III pembroke table is a form of small drop-leaf table featuring hinged flaps on either side, typically fitted with a single drawer and slender legs, popular during the late 18th century.

These tables are traditionally constructed from dense timbers such as mahogany, often featuring secondary woods like pine or oak for drawer linings, joined with dovetail construction and supported by brass castors.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage consistent with age, period brass hardware, and construction techniques characteristic of late 18th-century cabinetry.

This piece can be utilised as a versatile accent surface in a living room or study, paired with contemporary seating to create a balanced contrast between historical craftsmanship and modern design.

Preserve the timber by keeping the table away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood surface.
