Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

FAQs

The sofa table originated in the late 18th century and became particularly popular during the British Regency era, traditionally designed to stand directly behind a sofa.

These tables are typically crafted from dense tropical hardwoods like mahogany, featuring veneered tops with crossbanding, drop leaves, and brass hardware or castors.

Authenticity is indicated by period-correct joinery such as hand-cut dovetails in the drawers, traditional timber shrinkage, hand-turned legs, and genuine patination on the wood.

It can be placed behind a sofa to hold lamps and books, or used freestanding as a slim desk or console table in a living room or study.

Maintain the wood by dusting regularly with a soft cloth, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent fading, and treating periodically with microcrystalline wax.
