Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of Victorian Rococo Revival wall brackets dates from circa 1870. The pieces are formed from porcelain with an enamel finish in cream, pastel pink, and yellow, complemented by hand-gilded highlights. The sculptural design incorporates C-scrolls, acanthus foliage, and floral relief moulding. Purpose-made small holes sit on the top of the brackets to take a wire or thread for hanging. They measure 11.5 cm high, 9.5 cm wide, and 8 cm deep. These ornamental brackets suit placement on a narrow wall space in a living room, hallway, or bedroom. They serve as display shelves for small decorative items such as miniature figures, pocket watches, or dried botanicals. The traditional French Chateau style integrates well into period interiors and eclectic spaces alike. Each bracket provides a sturdy surface for mounting while contributing decorative relief to bare walls.

FAQs

Rococo Revival wall brackets are decorative ceramic or wooden wall mounts manufactured primarily in the nineteenth century, characterised by asymmetric C-scrolls, acanthus foliage, and shell-like motifs derived from eighteenth-century French Rococo design.

These items were slip-cast or hand-moulded from fine porcelain clay, decorated with polychrome enamel glazes in pastel tones, and detailed with hand-applied gilded highlights prior to firing.

Authentic period brackets typically display hand-painted gilding showing minor natural rub-wear, period potter or mould marks, unglazed back mounting surfaces, and subtle irregularities inherent to historic kiln processes.

Wall brackets can be mounted on either side of a vanity mirror, arranged as accent ledges within a gallery wall, or used individually to display small decorative objects such as figurines or miniatures.

Dust regularly using a dry, soft-bristled brush or microfibre cloth, avoiding wet cleaning or chemical abrasive polish that could erode the delicate surface gilding and cold-painted enamels.
