The quality is superb, this is very well made and it is an extremely useful item. The three tables nestle under one another nicely, each has a stunning figured walnut top, with inlaid floral marquetry in the centres.

Nesting tables originated in England during the 18th century, initially designed by cabinet makers such as Thomas Sheraton as sets of tables that fit neatly inside one another to save space.

These pieces traditionally feature solid hardwood frames with decorative wood veneers, such as walnut or mahogany, often enhanced by intricate marquetry, parquetry, or brass inlay work.

Authenticity is identified through traditional construction methods like hand-cut dovetails, the presence of natural aging and patina on the timber, and historical hardware or joinery details characteristic of the period.

They can be displayed together as a layered sculptural element or separated around a room to function as flexible side surfaces for lighting, drinks, or decorative accessories.

Protect the timber by keeping it out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and occasionally applying a quality beeswax to nourish the finish.
