Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Acid-etching and enamel painting became widely popular during the late 19th century as manufacturing techniques improved. These glass panels were commonly installed in Victorian and Edwardian front doors, vestibules, and pub interiors to diffuse light, ensure privacy, and add decorative grandeur to suburban homes.

These panels were produced by applying hydrofluoric acid to selected masked areas of flat sheet glass to create a frosted finish, often combined with hand-painted vitreous enamel glazes fired directly onto the glass surface for permanent colour retention.

Authentic period pieces often feature subtle imperfections in the glass sheet, hand-painted details with varied brushwork, and depth created through multi-stage acid etching rather than modern laser or sandblasted techniques.

Decorative glass panels are frequently integrated into modern partition walls, suspended in front of existing windows as light catchers, or framed with backlighting to serve as architectural wall art.

Clean the glass using a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water and mild soap, avoiding abrasive chemical cleaners or solvent-based sprays that may compromise enamel paint or surrounding timber framing.
