Vicky Thomas Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.

Dolphins stand guard over cornucopias, vines tumble out of the mouths of winged sea monsters, an entwined snake and eagle give way to griffins and a riot of foliage, and two heads peek out under wings circling a central lance with the crowning glory of what to me (I'm from here ) is a Manchester Bee!!

You can literally spend hours studying all the fine detail and still discover new faces and strange plants and creatures - the detail is exquisite - please have a look at the eagles feathers and talons to see just how fine the carving is. If you look closely on the flat wooden background you can see the minute chisel marks.

The panel measures 94cm by 10cm, and is approximately 2cm deep.
The panel is in super condition as I hope the photographs indicate - please don't hesitate to let me know if I can provide any further images or information.
I offer free delivery to the UK and am very happy to help with quotes for shipping abroad.
