We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

Satinwood gained immense popularity in British and Irish cabinet-making during the late 18th century, particularly within the neoclassical period, prized for its golden lustre and fine grain.

These pieces typically feature a softwood or hardwood carcass veneered with exotic woods like satinwood, incorporating hand-cut marquetry, stringing, and traditional mortise and tenon joinery.

Authenticity is determined by examining secondary timbers, hand-cut dovetails in drawer construction, natural patination, and the precision of the hand-laid veneer and inlay work.

Pair the warm golden tones of the wood with neutral backdrops, minimalist seating, and modern lighting to create a balanced contrast between historical craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Maintain stable relative humidity levels, keep the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and treat the surface periodically with traditional beeswax rather than modern chemical polishes.
