English Delftware is a type of tin-glazed earthenware manufactured in England, particularly during the 17th and 18th centuries, heavily inspired by imported Chinese porcelain.

These pieces were thrown from local earthenware clay, coated in an opaque white tin-oxide glaze, and hand-painted with metallic oxide pigments before being kiln fired.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit kiln-firing stilt marks on the base, minor glaze flakes along the rim, subtle crazing, and hand-painted brushwork characteristic of eighteenth-century manufacture.

Antique chargers can be displayed on plate stands on sideboards, mounted securely on walls using specialized hangers, or integrated into curated shelf displays to add historical texture.

Tin-glazed earthenware is porous and fragile; items should be kept out of direct sunlight, cleaned only with a dry or very slightly damp cloth, and never immersed in water or put in a dishwasher.
