This is a suberb and rare antique British military World War 1, phosphor bronze submarine wheel, circa 1915 in date.

This exceptional nautical collectable features eight elegant cast king cylindrical spokes, and it is in truly excellent condition and highly decorative, making it perfect as a sumptuous home wall decor.

World War I (28 July 1914 – 11 November 1918.

The British E-class submarines started out as improved versions of the British D-class submarine. The E class served with the Royal Navy throughout World War I as the backbone of the submarine fleet. The last surviving E class submarines were withdrawn from service by 1922.

During World War I, Britain lost 54 submarines with 137 in service.
