This nineteenth-century work table from the Regency period is rendered in golden brown satinwood with wood inlay and fabric elements. The piece has a hinged octagonal top with crossbanding and line inlay, sitting above a single drawer rail with a dark keyhole escutcheon. Below hangs a gathered, pleated fabric work basket in a pale yellow tone. The structure is supported by slender square tapered legs terminating in dark spade feet, further joined by a lower X-frame stretcher centred with a small wooden platform. A small white paper label hangs from the lower framing. Measuring 77 cm high, 49 cm wide, and 37 cm deep, this occasional table fits neatly at the end of a sofa or beside an armchair in a living room, study, or bedroom.
