The Antique Furniture Company has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
This 47 5/8in wide table extends from just under 6ft to 12ft by means of a twin ‘screw expander’ winding mechanism and strong mahogany runners. Any number of the leaves can be used and the table will seat up to 14 people if using all four leaves.

With a warm golden colour and attractive ‘tiger grain’ pattern produced from the medullary rays revealed in the quarter-sawn cut of the oak, the top has been recently polished and waxed by hand using traditional materials and has had some restorations to the mouldings. This table offers slightly more legroom than most tables we have seen.
