Description:
This is a lovely antique George V Anglo-Indian padauk circular occasional table with an inset marble top, circa 1930, displaying lovely rich colour, in excellent overall condition. The table boasts a circular moulded top with a later central marble insert. The table is raised on four ring turned columns, with reeded bottoms, connecting to a moulded cross-shaped pedestal. The pedestal boasts a central turned finial, situated between the column bases, and is supported by four carved scroll feet. The table is solid in joint and ready to use. The table has lovely colour and patination and would be ideal as an occasional, lamp or wine table in any room in the house.
Condition Report:
This George V wine table is in excellent overall condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges and top, but nothing significant, considering the age of the item. This table is of primitive rustic design, with an undulating moulded bezel around the marble tabletop. The top incorporates a replacement marble insert. The supporting columns and base are in good original condition. The table has been French polished by hand, to a professional standard, in our workshop, therefore the colour and patination are of an excellent standard. The table sits on its original scroll feet. The table boasts a fantastic rich colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. The item is solid in joint and ready to use.
