Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this Rosewood Writing Work Table to the 1800s.

Constructed of the finest figured rosewood throughout, the many features include: original tooled leather writing surface; fully adjustable and sliding upper section; twin side flaps; two long drawers (one fitted for writing implements with original ink bottles etc.); two mahogany-lined central drawers etc., whilst the whole piece is supported on finely turned and reeded solid rosewood legs terminating in original brass castors. A lovely attractive piece of glorious colour.
Illustrated in "Gillows" by Susan Stuart and a similar example in the Gillows Museum in Lancaster.
