Pair Of Irish Victorian Burr Walnut Card Tables

Stunning pair of 19th century Irish burr walnut cards tables, the serpentine shaped tops with highly figured book-matched veneers and ‘Irish carved’ edge of trailing Shamrocks, leaves and bell flowers. Each standing on a turned and similarly profusely carved column with four cabriole legs on original brass and white ceramic castors. The hinged tops turning and opening to reveal a green baize playing surface with a veneered and polished storage compartment for cards and games below.
 
In good condition with good colour and figuring to the tops, one is slightly faded on the frieze and has a couple of areas with filler to the top as well as a chip to the rear of the column, old repair to leg on the other. Inside the baize Is faded and worn on the crease and some marks & chips to the veneer, we can arrange for new baize or felt if required. There are some old filled worm holes to a support bar on the underside, these have been treated as a precaution, are not visible and not recent.
