Description

Quality late Georgian period mahogany sofa table raised on end splay legs.

Top having rosewood cross-banding. Drop leaves are easily raised to form a larger table surface when required.

Two front opening drawers. Finished on all four sides with original polish.

In sound condition with pleasing with pleasing polish finish. Circa 1800

This late Georgian period sofa table from around 1800 is made from mahogany with a warm brown finish. The table top displays flame mahogany veneer and rosewood cross-banding, complemented by two drop-leaf sides that lift to enlarge the surface area. The frieze incorporates two front opening drawers, and the structure is finished on all four sides with its original polish. Twin splayed end supports rise from four legs terminating in brass claw castors. The design includes brass hardware on the drawers.
