Founders Antiques has dated this Victorian Reversible Tram Bench to the Victorian era.
Because the backrest swings over smoothly without having to move the heavy cast iron base, its narrow footprint is ideally suited to floating down the centre of a stone-flagged entrance hall, acting as a practical room divider in a boot room, or serving as a dual-aspect seat between an open-plan dining table and the hearth.

Very good antique condition, retaining an attractive patina and authentic surface wear consistent with age. The mechanism operates freely and smoothly. Structurally sound, clean and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1890.
