This original framed artwork from the 1900 period originates from the French design house Felix Vanoutryve and Company. The piece is presented behind glass in a dark wooden frame and displays a blue and cream floral motif rendered in gouache on a gridded paper background. Visible details include intricate handwritten pencil annotations, corrections, and an original manufacturer label affixed to the top right corner. The paper shows natural signs of age with creasing and uneven edges. The complete piece measures 68 cm by 86 cm. Ideal for collectors of industrial and textile history, this unique decorative item brings authentic French chateau character to an interior. It suits placement above a sideboard in a living room, hallway, or study, adding historic charm and visual texture to a wall display. The muted blue and cream palette integrates easily with various interior design schemes, while the technical grid lines and handwritten production notes offer a fascinating insight into early twentieth-century textile manufacturing processes.

A textile design draft, often executed on point paper or gridded sheets, is an original technical artwork created by textile designers to plot patterns for production on loom machinery.

These works were typically created using gouache, watercolour, or ink on specialized gridded paper, often mounted to card stock or stored with production labels detailing client specifications.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit gridded guidelines, hand-written production codes, color key swatches, manufacturer stamps or tags, and natural age-related toning along the margins.

A framed textile drawing can be styled as a focal wall piece above a sideboard or console table, integrated into a gallery wall, or paired alongside natural timber and woven textiles.

Display the framed artwork away from direct sunlight and high humidity, ensuring UV-filtering glass and acid-free mounting materials are utilised to prevent fading and discoloration.
