The glazed lid lifts upwards to reveal a velvet-lined display compartment, originally designed for displaying and protecting jewellery, precious objects and treasured collections.

The elegant glazed sides are framed with decorative gilt bronze mounts, allowing the contents to be admired from several angles. The graceful cabriole legs, inspired by the Louis XV style, are embellished with elaborate gilt bronze foliate mounts extending towards the feet, adding to the luxurious appearance of this splendid piece.

A particularly attractive feature is the lower shelf, beautifully decorated with contrasting satinwood, harewood and boxwood veneers arranged in a striking geometric design with delicate stringing. The combination of finely figured timbers and exquisite decorative detailing demonstrates the exceptional craftsmanship associated with French furniture of this period.

Dating from the reign of Napoleon III, this magnificent bijouterie table reflects the elegance and sophistication of French decorative furniture. Perfect for displaying jewellery, watches, miniature collectables or precious objects, it would make a wonderful statement piece in a drawing room, bedroom, dressing room or contemporary interior.

Condition Report
Very good antique condition with appropriate age-related wear, displaying beautiful colour and patina throughout. The decorative marquetry and gilt bronze mounts present particularly well.
