Description

Quality Figured Walnut Extending Dining Table and Eight Chairs by Beresford & Hicks

A good quality early to mid-20th century figured walnut extending dining table and eight matching chairs by the renowned London cabinetmakers Beresford & Hicks.

The table features a beautifully figured walnut veneered top with a finely carved decorative edge, raised on elegant cabriole legs with carved knees and claw-and-ball feet. The sliding top opens to accommodate an additional extension leaf.

Accompanied by eight matching Queen Anne style chairs, including two carvers, with shaped splat backs and upholstered drop-in seats. Four chairs have been reupholstered in a slightly different but complementary fabric.

All chairs retain their original metal maker’s labels. The suite is in very good, clean condition, retaining its attractive mellow walnut finish.
