Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This vintage dressmaker's mannequin dates from the 1930 period in an industrial style. The construction combines a papier-mâché body covered in natural linen canvas with a wooden top and base, finished in a neutral beige palette with black stencilled typography. Visible details include stitched vertical seams dividing the fabric panels, a wooden cap at the neck, the size stamp 36 around the collar, and the maker inscriptions reading Kenneform and Kennett & Lindsell Ltd, Romford, Essex, alongside minor surface marks and age-related stains on the fabric. Practical dimensions measure 86 cm high by 33 cm wide. Placed in a home today, it functions as a decorative object in an empty corner of a study, bedroom, or living space.

A dressmakers mannequin torso, often referred to as a tailors dummy or dress form, is a three-dimensional representation of the human form used by dressmakers, tailors, and garment designers for fitting, draping, and constructing clothing.

Traditional dressmakers dummies feature an internal core composed of papier-mache or moulded card, padded with cotton or horsehair, and upholstered in durable natural linen or canvas fabric.

Authentic vintage pieces frequently feature stencilled maker marks, size numbers, visible structural stitching, and signs of historic studio use such as surface discolouration, pin marks, and natural fabric patination.

A vintage mannequin torso can be displayed as a sculptural accent in a dressing room, hallway, or bedroom, positioned on a pedestal, tabletop, or floor space to introduce textural warmth and historical character.

To preserve a vintage fabric dress form, position it away from direct sunlight to prevent UV fading, gently remove surface dust with a soft dry brush, and avoid chemical or water-based liquid cleaners that could mark the original linen.
