This Georgian revival mahogany coffee table dates from 1930 and is designed in an English country house style. The dark brown timber displays warm natural grain patterns across the rectangular top, which is finished with a shaped raised tray gallery edge and accented by pierced fretwork corner brackets beneath the frame. Square section legs support the structure, joined centrally by a pierced X-form stretcher that provides structural stability. The entire surface has been recently re-polished to maintain an excellent condition with a rich finish. Measuring 48 cm high, 109 cm wide, and 45 cm deep, the table provides a practical low surface for a living room or study to hold books, drinks, or decorative items.

Georgian style furniture, originating in 18th-century Britain, is defined by symmetrical proportions, high-quality hardwoods such as mahogany, and decorative influences from cabinetmakers like Thomas Chippendale.

These tables are primarily constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, incorporating features such as raised tray-top rims, corner spandrels, and hand-carved or pierced stretchers.

Key identification features include raised gallery edges around the tabletop, straight square-section legs, decorative corner brackets, and pierced cross stretchers connecting the leg supports.

Position the table centrally in a living area, balancing dark mahogany tones with neutral fabric upholstery, contemporary art publications, and simple ceramic decorative pieces.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth, apply a neutral beeswax polish along the grain periodically, and protect the wood finish from liquid spills and direct heat.
