Description

A very fine John Rose Coalport Porcelain Teapot from a Déjeuner set c.1805. The drum shaped teapot copying a shapes originally seen in Paris Porcelain from the late 18th century, both sides exceptionally well painted with scenes of classical warriors fighting and on horseback, painted in monochrome and picked out in gold. 

Unmarked 

Literature: Coalport & Coalbrookdale Porcelains by Geoffrey Godden – Plates 94 and 116 for two teapots of this drum ‘Paris’ shape. 

Condition: Small star crack to the base of the teapot, otherwise in excellent condition.
