19th century hand carved walnut marquetry table circa 1865.

We are pleased to offer this stunning table which is a quality piece of swedish 19th century up cycling, made using much earlier dutch panels from circa 1680.  we have been able to date this precisely as there is a hand written label on the inside of the frame in swedish as to what was done and the date.

Stunning marquetry top which we believe may have been a fall to an escritoire, further panels from the piece have been used to the sides and reverse, a fine example of dutch craftsmanship from the 17th century.  single drawer to the front, fitted with brass drop handles, raised on 4 turned barley twist legs, united by a shaped h frame stretcher with stringing and inset panel.  finishing on bun feet.

Much has been done by the original craftsman to maintain how this table would of been made.  rich golden colour.  minor surface marks, restorations with veneer.  very minor non structural age splits to top surface which have been restored.  ready for everyday use and enjoyment.
