This early twentieth century commercial wall sign is an original advertising piece for Palethorps Royal Cambridge sausages, set inside a heavy old painted pine frame. The ceramic enamel sign displays bold block typography in off-white against a deep blue background, centered around a detailed brown pictorial illustration of sausages wrapped in a paper band. Wear to the surface enamel includes chipping and distress along the edges, revealing the iron base beneath the glazed finish.
