A Sheraton Revival Oval Mahogany Table C1900, Later Hand Painted 1980s, 76cm.

A superbly stylish hand painted and decorated, Sheraton Revival, mahogany oval table circa 1900, later hand painted circa 1980s.

An elegant oval side table with distinctive Sheraton architectural elements, tapering and reeded legs terminating at spade feet, a shaped edge oval top with a neoclassical frieze.

The table underwent a decorative makeover during the 1980s, very possibly a professional decorative adaption with a shabby chic cream paint to include the underside and a skilful hand painted top featuring a floral and bow theme.

A wonderful table that captures both periods, a versatile table with considerable decorative appeal for a day or bedroom, hallway or landing etc.
