Description

A superb rosewood library table, circa 1820, presented in exceptional showroom condition. The beautifully figured rosewood top is supported by substantial architectural pedestal ends, with finely carved and turned details and elegant feet with hidden casters.

The table has two practical drawers to the front, each retaining its original locks, with dummy drawers to both ends and across the reverse, giving the piece a fully finished appearance and allowing it to be positioned attractively in the centre of a room.

The drawers are of solid mahogany and traditionally dovetailed, demonstrating excellent period construction. A particularly handsome and versatile piece of early 19th-century furniture, suitable as a library, writing or executive desk.
