Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the Victorian period, centre tables were positioned in the middle of drawing rooms or grand entrance halls to anchor the layout. They were designed to hold books, decorative objects, or tea services, and often featured a tilt-top mechanism so they could be moved aside when extra floor space was needed.

Victorian centre tables were frequently crafted using figured rosewood or mahogany veneers over solid hardwood frames. They generally feature a central turned pedestal, a heavy tripod base, hand-carved feet, and original brass tilt-latch hardware.

Authentic pieces display distinct high-contrast grain patterns typical of rosewood, hand-carved detailing along the feet or pedestal, and original iron or brass tilt mechanisms underneath the tabletop. Solid timber construction and period-correct castors are also key indicators.

In contemporary settings, a centre table serves effectively as a focal point in an entry hall adorned with a vase or table lamps. It can also function as an occasional dining table or a library table in smaller living spaces.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry, lint-free cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year to preserve the sheen. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent veneer movement or sun bleaching.
