Founders Antiques has dated this Mahogany Tripod Wine Table to the Victorian era.

The top secures to the column via a turned, grooved spigot that inserts into a central socket beneath the cross-batten of the tabletop, locking firmly into place as twin hand-marked wooden key pegs slide horizontally through the batten to engage the spigot's grooves.

Built during the height of the late Victorian Chippendale Revival, the table demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship through its high-grade relief carving, while its unusual detachable top reflects the bespoke engineering of elite 19th century London workshops.
Structurally sound, mechanically complete and ready to place in the home.
English, circa 1890.
