Antique Victorian Mahogany Side Table

Description

A decorative antique Victorian mahogany side table with an attractive circular white marble top. The substantial marble top has a moulded edge and sits above a shaped mahogany frieze, supported on an elaborate carved and pierced base. The base is formed from four boldly scrolling supports arranged around a turned central column, with moulded detailing throughout and terminating in original castors.

The mahogany has developed a lovely rich, warm colour and the highly decorative base gives the table a strong sculptural quality. A handsome example of Victorian furniture with particularly good proportions and detailing.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use. The marble top has areas of discolouration and staining, most noticeably towards the centre, together with general surface marks as pictured. The mahogany base has various minor knocks, scratches, rubbing and marks throughout commensurate with age. Retains its castors and remains solid and sound overall.
